About PubMedLie

This is a work of satire. PubMedLie is a parody of scientific databases such as PubMed. Every "study," author, institution, journal, PMID, DOI, citation count, and impact factor on this site is entirely fictional and exists only for comedy. None of it is real research, real data, or real medical advice.

If you arrived here from a "DOI" or "PMID"

Good. That link was supposed to bring you here. Our DOIs (e.g. 10.1069/satire.2026.0042) and 8-digit PMIDs are deliberately non-functional. They are not registered with any real registry and intentionally do not resolve to NCBI, Crossref, or anywhere that anyone would mistake for a genuine record.

What this is

In the tradition of The Onion and panorama.pub, PubMedLie dresses absurd, made-up findings in the dry, official costume of academic publishing. The humor is in the contrast: the more bureaucratic and "peer-reviewed" it looks, the funnier the nonsense inside.

What this is not

Peer-reviewed by our cat, Bartleby, who would prefer not to.
